Magically Artistic
Michelangelo

A passion for magic is a natural outgrowth of many interests. Combining art, technology, theater, science, music and architecture, Michelangelo's magic and illusions are rapidly gaining visibility in the world of entertainment. Intriguing set pieces and a charming performing style represent the unique blend of experiences that have shaped Michelangelo's life from the beginning. And catching the magic bug was a happy accident. His mother—a teacher home for the summer—bought a magic set and a couple of books on the subject, hoping to keep him out of her hair. It backfired. That became the summer of "Mom! Watch this one!"

In 2000, Michelangelo created Michelangelo Magic Works, Inc. as a design studio for developing and constructing magical effects and illusions. In combining new visual elements and methods he has consulted with performers in 25 states in the U.S. and 12 foreign countries. Inventive new twists on illusions and tricks led to his first booking as an opening act for a major international magic convention and to performing at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. Driven to present illusionary artistry that hasn't been seen by audiences before, he has created unique effects and illusions to perform in concert with theater groups, dance companies and symphony orchestra and has written two produced plays, "Murder by Magic" and "The Haunting of Dr. D'Arc," which incorporate magic into their stories.

Michelangelo began collecting skills and interests from an early age in theater, literature, illustration and magic. Later, music and technology and film captured his attention. A Bachelor's degree in English led to work in technical documentation, instructional design, marketing and producing computer games. These disciplines eventually blended together into theatrical magic for the stage—the ideal art form to encompass all of his varied activities. Today, Michelangelo designs his own illusions, scripts his productions and often composes the music that accompanies each show.

In 2010, Michelangelo contributed in a substantial way to the publication of Teach By Magic now available on Amazon and eBay. His newest full-evening program, Illusionicity, played to a near sell-out crowd at the Sandy Amphitheater and he debuted a number of new illusions: "Art of Illusion," "Picasso Princess" and "Body+Blades." As usual, these performance pieces combine art and magic in original and exciting new ways to reflect the diverse interests of Michelangelo's magic life.

Michelangelo is a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, Society of American Magicians and the Intermountain Magician's Association.

Magic Man
Like music, magic is an art that is inescapably influenced by the heart and soul of the performer.

Unless it's all an illusion.
